Subject: Annual picnic & Raffle
Once again the Post is gearing up for the annual Veterans Day Picnic & Raffle, which will
be held on Veterans Day, 11 November 2000. The primary purpose of this event is to honor our fallen
comrades and recognize all Veterans who have answered our countries call to service. It is also
extremely important to the post that our raffle is successful in order to ensure continued funding
of the many programs and activities that we support.
The following represents some of the programs and projects that we will be supporting through
A. Maintenance of Clark Cemetery $8000.00
B. Cleft Lip and Palate operations $5000.00
For local children
C. Support to Pearl Buck Foundation $2000.00
(Over 700 Amerasian children in Angeles)
D. Amortization of no-interest loans $15,000.00
To members for building new Post Home
E. Emergency relief to members in distress $1500.00
F. Installation of TV Satellite system $3000.00
G. Construction of Picnic/Patio area $2000.00
In front of Post Home.
H. Upgrade of Post kitchen $2000.00
I. Support of local Barangay and $1000.00
A portion of the funds for the above is generated by our annual raffle. This letter is being
sent to all of our 1200 members in hopes that each member will purchase at least one book (more if
you can afford it). Each book costs $5.00 or P225.00. Checks can be made payable to VFW Post 2485
and sent to the undersigned at PSC 517 Box RCV, FPO AP
96517-1000. Your ticket numbers will be assigned by the raffle committee and sent to you by return
mail/e-mail. Prizes total P30, 000.00. You do not have to be present to win cash prizes.
